questions

stuff that keeps coming up on reddit. if your question isn't here it's probably already answered on /start, /verified, /privacy, or /uptime.

1“stuff shows in stock here but it’s out of stock on the actual site”

two things going on, and almost always it's the first one:

1 · same product, two regions
Estradiol ValerateUS $65
Estradiol ValerateUK £55

two listings, two stock levels. check the region tag matches the store you're on.

2 · someone buys it between checks

the amber gap is when it's gone on their site but we haven't checked again yet.

  1. you're mixing up regions. symphony labs (for example) has separate stock for US, UK, and other regions — same product, different inventory. we list each region as its own row with a region tag on the side. if the US row says in stock and you're browsing the UK store and it says oos, those are two different things. read the region tag.
  2. we check vendors about every 15 seconds. if someone bought the last one between our last check and your click, it'll show in stock here and oos on the vendor. that's an unavoidable race condition, not a bug. we don't have a magic feed — we're polling public vendor APIs like everyone else.

also worth pointing out: you're not paying for any of this. the server, cloudflare, the anti-bot solver, the domains, the time spent maintaining pollers when vendors change their pages — that's all out of pocket. a 30-second polling gap is a pretty reasonable price for free.

2“is this vibecoded?”

i've used AI to help write parts of it — same way i'm using it to talk to you right now — but that's not what vibecoding means. every line that ships gets read, the architecture is mine, the bugs are mine, and the 3am production incidents are extremely mine.

if you want to question my ability as a developer you're free to rant in the contact form. i've had plenty of praise for the site too — happy to take both. but if your assumption is that the entire design "came from vibecoding," i don't really know what to tell you. the whole point of this site was to help the community after hrtcafe and diyhrt.market went down. it wasn't a portfolio piece and i'm not auditioning for anyone.

and if you don't want to appreciate the time and dedication that went into making this thing cute, seamless, informative, and as unbuggy as i could manage — you're completely free to go use an actual vibecoded site instead. there are plenty of them. enjoy.

for what it's worth, the data this site serves is all public: stock listings pulled from public vendor APIs, plus optional discord auth if you want alerts. there's nothing here to leak that isn't already on the vendor's own site.

and if you want to test my security measures, you're free to do so. responsible disclosure via the contact form or the discord — i'd rather hear about a bug from you than read about it on reddit.

3“who runs this? who are you?”

diyhrt.coffee is a community project. akira built it and ran it until october 2026; phi and n2x run it now (say hi on /about), with help from the discord. it exists because diyhrt.market and hrtcafe both went down at the time, and people still need a way to find stock without refreshing twelve vendor pages.

i don't know why anyone needs my legal name or social security number to use a free stock tracker. if you want to verify something about the site itself: there's a signed warrant canary, a public uptime page, a privacy page that covers what we collect (almost nothing), and a contact form and discord if you have a real question.

4“who is [new seller X] — can i trust them?”
listing a vendor on this site isn't an endorsement, it's an entry. the chip next to their name tells you what stage of verification they're at (1st party / 2nd party / 3rd party / in progress). new vendors also get a
new
chip until they've been running long enough to have a track record.

if you don't see a green 3rd-party chip, we haven't had the product independently tested — read /verified for what each tier actually means and make your own call. vendors with no published testing yet show "testing · in progress" and aren't tracked until there is some.

5“why does your discord link ask me to sign in? is this phishing?”

two different links, two different things, and people keep mixing them up:

  • discord server invite — the "discord" link in the footer and on /start. goes straight to a normal discord.gg invite. doesn't ask for anything. if you're already logged into discord in that browser it just drops you in the server.
  • sign in with discord — only on /settings and the account menu in the sidebar. this is OAuth, and it's only for setting up alerts (so we know which discord account to DM, or which servers you share with our bot so you can pick a channel). standard discord OAuth screen, same flow every other bot uses.

if the invite link is prompting you to sign in, that's discord's own login wall because you're signed out in that browser, not us. we don't see your password — OAuth never shows it to the application.

6“what data do you collect about me?”

there's an entire page for this: /privacy. read it. tl;dr: we don't track you and we don't sell anything. what we hold is what you give us: your account, and your alert settings if you set some up.
